Joker Kehrer stings: PSG saves a draw in Lyon

Ligue 1, Matchday 20

In a varied match, Olympique Lyon and Paris St. Germain drew 1-1. Lyon took an early lead, PSG ran in vain for a long time. Joker Kehrer saved the draw for the visitors, who had a visual advantage and also a chance advantage.

Paqueta scores early

The two teams met at the Groupama Stadium without much probing. Aouar for Lyon and Ander Herrera for Paris, who were without Messi after his recovery from Corona, Draxler, Di Maria, Pereira, Kurzawa and keeper Donnarumma (all in domestic isolation), came close early on before Paqueta converted the second counterattack against a PSG defence that was too high. The conceded goal had an effect on the sovereign league leaders, who subsequently failed to find their game rhythm.

Marquinhos’s cheeky lob

Lyon tried to counter-attack, Paredes and Mbappé tried from distance on the other side. A cheeky lob from PSG captain Marquinhos was deflected over the crossbar by goalkeeper Lopes with difficulty (24.). After that, the Olympique three-man backline, which mostly acted as a five-man backline, had sorted itself out again around Boateng – until the 42nd minute, however, Mbappé’s flicked shot only touched the far post.

In the second half, Paris was firmly entrenched in the home side’s half, but lacked the drive for goal. Icardi missed the equaliser from close range (55th), Dembele on the other side alone in front of Navas then the 2:0 (59th).
