The coronavirus holds the entire globe in a stranglehold. Even professional football is feeling the effects of the extensive protective measures – several events have been cancelled or postponed because of Covid-19. Eight people have tested positive for the coronavirus at the Turkish top football club Besiktas Istanbul. This was announced by the 15-time champion on Thursday.
Besiktas did not disclose whether and how many players are among the affected players. The Turkish league actually wants to resume play with ghost games on June 12. In Turkey, more than 140,000 people are infected and almost 4,000 have died. Among others, former Bundesliga professional Kevin-Prince Boateng is under contract with Besiktas.
